Paying it Forward for the Greater Good

Rosa Martinez, President of PMG, along with fellow contractor Hugo Zavala from Zavala Corp., sat on a workshop Q&A panel this month for LatinoBuilt, a local nonprofit whose mission is to improve opportunities in construction for Latino-owned businesses in Oregon.

With the assistance of two LatinoBuilt Board members, Berenice Lopez, H.E.L.P. Group Inc. and Art Cortez, The Harver Company, they shared their business journeys with approximately 22+ small businesses eager to learn what steps to take and avoid after getting a CCB license.

The 3-hour workshop, packed with lots of back-office basics and attendee questions, received a lot of positive feedback. Rosa was excited to hear that all of the participants were very interested in attending future workshop trainings. However, in light of recent events, LatinoBuilt is working on delivering training in the virtual online environment.

Rosa’s participation in this workshop is just one way she gives back to her contracting community. She is grateful to the people who have helped her build her business and is paying it forward by sharing her experience with others.

If you share Rosa’s passion for building the Latino contractor pipeline and would like to learn more about LatinoBuilt, contact her at [email protected].
